COVID-19 Advisory Update: Supplemental Paid Sick Leave Under Senate Bill 95

Negotiations/Unions of SFUSD/Meet and Confer
4.9-Negotiations-Negotiated from 9 am-4:30 pm with no agreement. Look for the Google Form Survey we sent tonight so that we can get your input on next steps.
4.7.21-Negotiations-Your UASF negotiating team met with the District team to hear the District’s response to our MOU. UASF caucused and sent the District a revised article. The next negotiation session is set for April 9,2021 from 9:00-4:00.
4.6.21-Health and Safety Committee-Joan participated in this monthly meeting with Labor representatives who met with Labor and District representatives to get updates on the District fulfilling and adhering to the Health and Safety Standards. The Unions are requesting specific information as it relates to numbers of employees that have been vaccinated, potable water, ventilation systems, PPE availability on sites, etc.
4.5.21-Jolie attended the weekly meeting of the Unions of SFUSD. Jessica Beard told the group that she is leaving SFUSD, her last day is 4/9/21. There was lively discussion on who might take the lead for this group. In addition, the group created an agenda for the Health and Safety committee meeting.
4.5.21-Health and Safety MOU Implementation Team-Joan participated with representatives from other Unions to discuss areas that needed to be addressed with the District related to adherence to the H&S MOU.
On-going Opening of Schools
First of all, UASF knows that Site Leaders have been asked to do many tasks and often with short notice. Just know that UASF is continuing to fight for you and your needs to open your sites. Please make sure that you inform your LEAD supervisor if you have any unmet needs to open your sites to students. If you continue to have unmet needs related to the Health and Safety MOU or other essential support you need, please contact the UASF Ex. Director for your division via text, phone or email.
4.7.21-Enthusiastic UASF central office members (and other staff) were notified of being temporarily deployed to support schools with the reopening of hybrid and in person learning from April 12-April 16

UASF and District Meetings
4.9.21-SPED-Joan and Ben Neumann met with Chief Robertson to discuss unit members calendars, supporting sites during opening, improving communications from SFUSD to SPED UASF members, and the SPED Assessment Center.
4.8.21-The UASF EDs met with Joya to discuss the ongoing support needs for sites reopening including: additional staff for supervision of students, nurse and health aide assigned, meeting the Health and Safety MOU, EED being included in all information, and teacher and the substitute coverage of classrooms.
4.7-8.21 Debra, Meenoo and Raul were working to get EE Sites the needed PPE and Health and Safety protections in place to welcome back staff and prepare for reopening.
4.8.21-Caroline met with Dr. Matthews and debriefed the Dialogue About Race session on 4/7 and discussed concerns raised by EED administrators
UASF Internal Meetings
4.6.21 and 4.8.21-The UASF EDs met to prepare for meeting with Joya regarding opening of schools needs, the upcoming UASF election, reviewing a possible grievance on behalf of members, preparing for next week’s meeting with Nikki, preparing to vacate the UASF office due to demolition of the building for housing development, administrative appointments and reviewing and making suggestions to the UASF MOU in preparation for a return to negotiations on Friday.
